• SPEC 2006

The first SPEC was an event arranged exclusively for the Electronic Engineering where undergraduate students were provided with the opportunity to present their projects. This event was held under the supervision of Mr. Usman Ali Shah and patronage of the former chairman Shaikh Ghulam Hussain on May 24, 2006, where 36 projects were displayed.

Some of the noteable projects in SPEC 2006 were:

1- Design & Implementation of Small Scale Wireless Sensor Network
2- Design & Implementation of Downlink Cellular Jammer for PGSM Band
3- Alarm System with Locality Identifer
4- PC Controlled Wireless Aircraft Control

• SPEC 2007

The second annual SPEC 2007 was held on 24th May 2007 at Instrumentation Center, Department of Electronic Engineering, NED University of Engineering and Technology. The event was organized by Mr. Muhammad Owais under the supervision of Assistant Professor Hashim Raza Khan.

The exhibition was a one-day event & was marked by 46 projects. More than 800 students and faculty members attended the event.

The event was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Qamar-ul-Wahab (Linkoping University, Sweden), Chairperson Oman IT Chair and hosted by Professor Dr. Abdul Qadir, Chairman of Electronic Engineering Department. Engineer Abul Kalam, Vice Chancellor NED presided over the closing ceremony and praised the efforts of the students. The event also received television coverage by PTV, Geo TV and Business Plus.

Prime attractions of this year were:

1- Digital Attendance Recorder
2- Digital Hatcher
3- Industrial Control & Monitoring using RF nodes
4- Line following Robot
5- Device (Control) Using Telephone
